should be borne in mind that Dr. Costa Bonino, apart from being a leading
political consultant in Latin America and Europe, is a specialist in Comparative
Politics with an international academic career.

This
book analyzes the circumstances surrounding the formation of the Uruguayan
political system and the cracks in its stability. The second part analyzes
chronologically the political crises that led to the 1973 coup d’état.
